The city of Greenfield just retired their wonderful Police K9 named Badger, a Belgian Malinois, after 7.5 years of faithful and loyal service on October 16, 2012 with a beautiful retirement celebration. At that event, MECA presented the city of Greenfield Police Department with a check to purchase a new Police K9 from Germany which will be arriving in January 2013. Dr. Lichtenberger was instrumental in helping raise the funds needed to purchase the new K9 by sponsoring commercials, speaking at a Brewers Baseball Game Pre Show and other avenues to help spread awareness to the public to donate to this important cause. The city of Greenfield presented MECA and Dr. Lichtenberger, at Badger’s retirement celebration, with a plaque graciously thanking her for the hard work and dedication in helping the city continue to provide a vital service to protect the community.
