Greenfield, Wis – The Milwaukee Emergency Center for Animals (MECA) and the MECA Foundation announced today the 3rd Annual “MECA Vest a K-9 Holiday Event,” featuring free pet photos with Santa. The event will be held on Saturday, December 10th, from 1 PM until 4:30 PM at John Paul’s Buick GMC located 3615 S. 108th Street in Greenfield.

MECA Vest a K-9 EventThe 2016 Holiday Event’s goal is to raise awareness in the community about the need for police K-9 protective vests, new police K-9’s, and the total wellness of police K-9’s, which includes early veterinary care.

“Police K-9’s are heroes. They risk their lives to save ours as they’re the first sent into harm’s way. Like our human officers, these incredible dogs deserve the same protection, including vests and total wellness care,” states Dr. Marla Lichtenberger, owner of MECA and the MECA Foundation.

Don’t forget to bring your own pets to the Holiday Event! The MECA Vest a K-9 Holiday Event will include free pet pictures with Santa courtesy of John Paul’s Buick GMC, along with live police K-9, a silent auction, raffles, and more! 100% of the proceeds will go towards the MECA Foundation, who earlier this year supplied the funds to acquire Greenfield PD’s newest police K-9 “Ocho.”

Just this past July, The MECA Vest a K-9 Fest entertained the largest number of attendees ever boasting over 1300 supporters including 11 of the Milwaukee Brewers who have shown support for the cause since the MECA Vest A K-9 Fest’s inaugural event back in 2012.

“We look forward to this event and appreciate the partnership with MECA. Hosting an event that benefits the overall well-being of an animal and provides joy to local families is uniquely rewarding and something that we are deeply committed to,” said Cathy Jones owner of John Paul’s Buick GMC

This is a marquee event for all animal lovers and is a great opportunity to show your support of our K-9 officers and to help protect these dogs from harm. You won’t want to miss this event! The event will be held on December 10th from 1 PM – 4:30 PM at John Paul’s Buick GMC.
