Angie Shell, Receptionist and ICU Technician

Angie started her career in veterinary medicine as a technician in 2001. Most of her training was received on the job, though her goal is to become a certified technician. Angie has a large family that includes a husband, 3 sons, 2 dogs, and 2 cats.

Gayl Lichtenberger, Receptionist

Gayl joined MECA in August 2009. She previously worked as an accountant for 5 years and at a restaurant for 20 years. She was attracted to the veterinary field by the challenge of helping clients and animals. She enjoys greeting the clients and making them comfortable during their difficult time. She has one cat of her own.

Alissa Gottfreid, Receptionist

Alissa has a diverse background in animal care that helps her assist clients at MECA. She started her animal care career working in a boarding kennel then moved on to work at an animal ER while finishing her B.S. degree in Conservation and Environmental Science. Alissa works as a zookeeper taking care of rattlesnakes, rhinos, giraffes and primates when not at MECA. She continues to work at MECA because she enjoys helping people and their pets.

Samantha Turner, Receptionist and ICU Technician

Samantha completed her Veterinary Assistant education at Milwaukee Career College and is currently
continuing her education in the Veterinary Technician program there as well.
Samantha was attracted to the veterinary field because she always enjoyed helping animals.  “It’s always a happy moment to see sick animals become healthy again and to be able to go home to their loved ones,” she stated.
Samantha enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine however her favorite part of veterinary medicine is surgery and rehabilitation. She has a  3 year old dachshund/beagle mix named Bailey.
